What is unique about Wesleyan Theology? This workshop will focus on the beliefs structure that provides the foundation for mission and ministry of The United Methodist Church.

.

Workshop 2: NAVIGATING SOCIAL MEDIA

Facilitator: Madeline Pillow, Director of Communications and Editor of the Virginia Advocate

This workshop is ideal for Beginners to social media as well as those with more expertise.

For churches ready to delve into the world of social media, or ready for new ideas, we will look at some of the social media platforms and how they can work for your church. Having an online presence is integral in this digital age as well as understanding what social platforms make the most sense for your ministries and church demographics.

Workshop 3: CROSSING BOARDERS—CHANGING LIVES

Facilitator: Glenn Rowley, Director of Mission and Global Justice

Instead of building walls to protect borders Christ calls us to cross borders and connect with “the stranger” “the other”. Our time will be devoted to exploring the biblical, theological and practical issues that emerge when we engage into the risky areas of God’s mission and justice.

Workshop 4: ENHANCING STEWARDSHIP IN THE LOCAL CHURCH

Facilitator: Stephen Clark, President of the Virginia United Methodist Foundation and Development Company

Come and learn how the UM Foundation can assist the local church in achieving your stewardship goals and enable you to be more faithful stewards of the resources God has entrusted to you and your congregation.
