                                                            (CCLI #1149131)

ENTER THE LIGHT OF CHRIST        Light a candle at home if you wish

GATHERING WORDS (If you are worshipping with others, you may use two or more voices in a “Call to Worship” style at home).

Holy God, You are our Rock and our Fortress. We place our trust in You.

          We gather in your presence. We come seeking your grace, mercy and strength.

We call out to you in times of trouble, and believe that you are listening to us.

You are always faithful. In You, we can find refuge and help.

Our lives are in your keeping.

HYMN OF PRAISE          A Mighty Fortress is Our God                           #110

OPENING PRAYER O God of sheltering love, You revealed yourself to us in our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the Way the Truth and the Life. As we gather to worship, draw us into a deeper relationship of trust in You so that day by day we will follow your leading and trust in your care. Ignite within our hearts a desire to follow You more faithfully, that we might bring glory unto You. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE PSALM    Psalm 31: 1-5; 15-16 (New International Version)       #764

In you, O Lord, I seek refuge;
    do not let me ever be put to shame;
    in your righteousness deliver me.
Incline your ear to me;
    rescue me speedily.
Be a rock of refuge for me,
    a strong fortress to save me.

You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
    for your name’s sake lead me and guide me,
take me out of the net that is hidden for me,
    for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
    you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.

My times are in your hand;
    deliver me from the hand of my enemies and persecutors.
16 Let your face shine upon your servant;
    save me in your steadfast love.

This is the Word of God for the people of God.   Thanks be to God.

PRAYER OF DISCIPLESHIP

THE LORD’S PRAYER                                                                         #895

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

 HYMN OF DISCPLESHIP      ‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus              #462

BLESSING          The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. In the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All God’s people said. Amen.
