We will give thanks to the Lord our God.

We will call upon the Name of the Lord and tell of God’s marvelous deeds.

At all times and in all places, our God is with us

We give thanks and praise to the Lord for his faithfulness to us.

Praise the Lord!

HYMN OF PRAISE                 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah                                         #127

  1. Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land;
    I am weak, but Thou art mighty, Hold me with Thy pow’rful hand.
    Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more; Feed me till I want no more.
  2. Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow;
    Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through.
    Strong Deliv’rer, strong Deliv’rer, Be Thou still my Strength and Shield;

Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.

  1. When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside;
    Death of death and hell’s Destruction, Land me safe on Canaan’s side.
    Songs of praises, songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee; I will ever give to Thee.

OPENING PRAYER O God of mystery and might, whose wonderful works are to be remembered always, we gather to praise your Holy Name, for great are You, O Lord, and greatly to be praised. Move in our lives, change our minds, soften our hearts and direct our feet so that, by your grace, we might follow You more faithfully. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Long, Kimberly B., ed. Feasting on the Word: Liturgies for Year A, Vol. 2 (Louisville: Westminster John Know Press), 2014, p. 140, Prayer of the Day, adapted).

BLESSING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS Most generous God, you have provided for our needs in amazing ways and we give you thanks for these gifts that have been received from your people. We ask your blessing upon each gift and each giver, and for the opportunity of sharing in the work of ministry by giving back to you a portion of what you have placed in our hands. You are not a God of scarcity, but a God of abundance and generosity. Help us to be generous with your gifts to us, so that through us, you might bless others. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Fill my cup, Lord. I lift it up, Lord. Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.

Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more.

Fill my cup; fill it up and make me whole.

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.
