Indoor worship resumes this Sunday, April 19

We are thankful to announce that we will begin indoor worship this coming Sunday, April 18, at our regular 10:30 a.m. time.

The United Methodist COVID 19 protocol will still be in place and must be observed. For the health and safety of everyone, masks and social distancing of at least 6 feet are required while on church property. This applies to all persons, regardless of your vaccination status. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not experienced complete resolution of symptoms, or have not completed the required self-isolation advised by your medical provider (even if asymptomatic), or if you are experiencing any COVID 19 symptoms, have been recently exposed to someone who has tested positive, or are awaiting test results, you should not plan to attend in-person services at this time. The outside doors of the Sanctuary will be open to provide fresh air circulation.Check-in tables will be located at each of the outdoor entrances to the Sanctuary, and we ask that you use these entrances to enter the building and complete the sign-in process upon arrival.  Please be patient with this process as it may take time. It is helpful to reserve the parking spots in the upper lot for those with mobility issues to enable them to easily access the side ramp entrance. The pews will be marked to provide guidance for physically distanced seating. Of course, this is not an exact science, and ushers will assist you with seating. If you have questions, please ask. In order to maintain the distance requirements, our maximum capacity inside the Sanctuary is approximately 54 people. Once that capacity is reached, others who arrive may sit outside (doors will be open and service will be audible), or in the social hall where the service can be heard via loud speaker.Offering plates will not be passed during the service at this time, but the plates will be available to receive your gifts at the check in tables.Currently, we are not allowed to sing as a congregation as we could outdoors, or provide special singers (soloists or groups) within the same room as the congregation, but we are working on some creative alternatives. We all understand that these measures are temporary, and that the guidelines continue to evolve as more and more of the population receives the vaccine. The online worship option will continue to be available. As a general rule, it will be posted later in the day on Sunday or on Monday morning. The Worship by Phone option will continue to be available, and the worship mailings for those who do not have internet access will continue to be sent out on Monday. We appreciate the patience of everyone as we move forward into our “new normal”. It will be such a blessing to be together once again in our beautiful Sanctuary.
