Blessings to each of you today. Our worship service on July 25 was a music program presented by Faithful Praise. They use recorded background tracks as their accompaniment, and as a result, YouTube copyright restrictions prevented the uploading of the video. Therefore, a worship video for yesterday’s service is not available. You may listen to some of their music on their website at www.faithfulpraise.com. Provided below is a full text order of worship for the service.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
O God of new and everlasting life, we come before you today as your thankful and blessed people. We come before you bringing our songs of thanksgiving and praise…for you are always on our side. You show us the path of life and enable us, by your grace, to walk in your ways. We bless your holy name and give to you our unending praise…for we know that you inhabit the praise of your people. We give thanks this day for your great providence that has brought us to this time and this place…that we are among the living. We give you thanks for each and every day that you give us life and breath, each day that you give us to love and serve you.
As we gather to worship you, O Lord…we know that you see us as we are. We come here from many different walks of life…many different places on our faith journey…We carry different burdens and are troubled by different things….but when we are here, you bring us together…and you invite us to lay aside our distractions and all the cares of the week that is past…and to focus upon you…so that we might be renewed and strengthened by your grace. For those that are weary today, Lord give your strength….for those that are grieving….bring comfort….for those that are troubled in mind, in body or in spirit….bring your peace. Here the prayers of our hearts as we offer them before you now in silence. (Pause for silent prayer).
How thankful we are, Lord…that your promises to us are always true…that in spite of our unfaithfulness…you are always faithful….In spite of our waywardness, you call us back and welcome us into your arms of love and forgiveness. Thanks be to God for your never-ending love.
Lord, we know that you have heard the requests that we have brought before you…we know that you know the deepest needs of our hearts and the hearts of everyone….so we ask your blessing upon those in our own number…and those unknown to us who need a special touch from your hand of healing today. May your grace be sufficient in all things.
We give thanks that you hear us when we pray and will always…always answer according to your will. And so we pray all of these things in the holy name of Jesus…your Son and our savior who taught us to pray saying:
THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Proclaiming and Responding to God’s Word
THE PSALM Psalm 124 (read responsively) #846
1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side —let Israel now say—
2 if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when our enemies attacked us,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us;
4 then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us;
5 then over us would have gone the raging waters.6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us
as prey to their teeth.7 We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken, and we have escaped.8 Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
This is the Word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION Oh, generous God, we give you thanks for your abundant blessings to us.
It is our joy and privilege to give back to you what already belongs to you anyway, with joy and thanksgiving. Use these gifts and our very lives to be a light and a blessing to others. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
AN OFFERING OF MUSIC Faithful Praise
Introduction: We are so blessed this morning to have special musical guests Tommy Fortune and Shari DeLange with us, and Shari’s husband, Rick, who manages the technology for them. They are Faithful Praise and they will bring our morning message through the gift of music. If you recall, Tommy is Margaret Ann White’s cousin, so musical gifting must run in that family.
For many years now, Faithful Praise has been sharing the Gospel through music for Sunday morning services, Christmas parties, banquets, revivals, concerts and benefits. Traveling and performing with several groups, Tommy has been involved in music all his life. He has sung in many venues throughout the U.S., including on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. Tommy is both an instrumentalist and a vocalist, and has dedicated his talents to the Lord to be used for God’s glory.
Shari DeLange has been involved in church music her entire life. She was a church pianist in her youth and she continued to use her talents at a Christian college, traveling two summers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Shari has sung on various praise teams and with several groups, including Circle of Faith, a ladies’ quartet that sang extensively in the Shenandoah Valley. She also taught piano for many years.
We welcome you all here this morning and so very grateful that you could be with us. May God bless you as we worship our Lord together!
At this point in today’s service, Faithful Praise provided a worship concert and slide show. Due to YouTube copyright restrictions, the service video could not be uploaded to our YouTube channel. PRAYER OF DISCIPLESHIP Lord, it has been so good to be in your house this morning where we have heard your word and your witness proclaimed through music. We thank you for Faithful Praise and for their ministry to us today. We ask your blessing upon them as they continue to travel to share your word with others.
Lord, we have been reminded today that because you loved us and all the world so very much that you sent your only Son, Jesus Christ, into human history, into time and place to show us what real love looks like. Jesus walked the dusty roads of the Holy Land, and laid down His holy life because you loved us so much. Lord, we pray that your forgiving love and grace would be real to each person that is here…and if there is someone who does not know you as Lord and Savior today….someone who doubts that your love includes them….someone who is struggling and feels far from you…..or someone that needs a fresh touch of your renewing and lifegiving presence…..I pray that you would surround them just now….that by your Holy Spirit you would draw them close to you. Help all of us to remember that you are never far from us, but that you are as close as our next breath, and that your throne of grace is always open to us, that you wait for us with outstretched arms of love and of grace, ready to receive us with hope and forgiveness when we turn to you. In these closing moments, we bow our hearts before you as we pray in silence…
Lord, because of your gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, you set us free for joyful obedience in your name. For your love, grace, forgiveness and presence with us always, we give you thanks. Lord, we ask your continued blessing upon us as we dismiss for a time of food and fellowship. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
